Gijón

Selling and buying in Gijón.

In Gijón, distance to the sea costs money, though not always the way people assume: a second floor with no lift in La Arena and a new-build in Nuevo Gijón play in different leagues even when the price per square metre looks similar.

FAQ

Selling or buying in Gijón.

Do homes sell better in summer?

In Gijón it shows, especially near the beach: there are more viewings from people out of town. But a well-presented home sells all year, and in summer there is also more competition.

I have a flat in Cimadevilla: anything special?

Quite a few. It is a historic quarter: there are restrictions on works and buildings with old structures. It pays to have the paperwork clear before showing it, because buyers ask.

What if my flat has no lift?

It cuts the number of buyers, especially above a second floor, and that has to be reflected in the price from the start rather than discovered after three months with no viewings.
